Hannah and Carlos, a couple merging English and Portuguese cultures, celebrated their wedding in Foz do Douro, Porto, where the Douro River meets the Atlantic Ocean. The day began with excitement as Hannah and her loved ones gathered at a local hotel, sharing joyful moments and toasting to their future together.

The wedding ceremony took place at the São João Baptista da Foz do Douro Church, known for its historic charm. Carlos waited for Hannah at the altar, and the exchange of wedding rings symbolised the merging of their distinct paths.

After the ceremony, the celebration moved to Casa dos Arcos da Boavista, a historic venue in Porto. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with an Instax camera to capture fun photos and messages. As the rain fell outside, the atmosphere remained lively with Carlos’s heartfelt speech, first in English and then in Portuguese, deeply touching everyone present. Hannah’s father also spoke, using projected Portuguese translations, sharing humorous stories about Hannah. Carlos’s sister concluded the speeches with amusing moments from when she and Carlos were younger.

The evening featured Hannah and Carlos’s first dance, which energised the crowd and brought guests of all ages to the dance floor. Despite any language barriers, the celebration was filled with joy and togetherness.
